We are surrounded by water here in Te Tairawhiti and it forms a large part of our curriculum. Every Friday, (in the warmer months) a group of our students hit the waves. The group learn surf survival and the basic surf techniques. Each year, our surf team challenge another school in a "surf off". The waves have been kind to our surf team who managed to take out the surf off for the past two years.
