Poneke here we come! In December 2011, the Year 6 children travelled to Wellington for camp. Settng off early Sunday morning, they travelled on the bus heading south arriving at Kokiri Marae in Seaview at around 5pm. Once in Wellington they spent a week experiencing what it had to offer. They spent time at Capital E where they were all involved in putting together a full news bulletin. They did everything from the presenting right through to the camera work, editing, green-screening, and the sound. They experienced Zealandia, a sanctuary situated in Karori, and could compare this to the experience of Wellington Zoo. They visited the Weta Cave and saw a little of how the Weta Workshop has been involved some very famous movies and the creations that they have put together. Then of course there was Laserforce, Bowlarama and visiting H2O Xtreme! A great week in the capital city was had by all!
